Tournament Information and Promotion
Pursuant to the terms of the Affidavit of Eligibility and Release which each contestant must sign, Daybreak shall have the right to publish tournament player information, such as player’s game stats, photographs, interviews or video footage of the tournament at any time for any reason.
Upon checking in players are expected to begin Pre-Match procedures, which include signing a release, setting up mice and keyboards, and any other set-up instructions per the Tournament Officials. Once a player enters the tournament area for pre-match procedures they must check in with a tournament official to receive permission to leave the area—this is to help ensure players are not replaced with alternates because their whereabouts are unknown.
The tournament area (the computer area inside the curtain partitions) is to remain free of trash, drinks and food at all times. If for any reason you need to leave the tournament area, please check-in with a Tournament Official first.
Technical issues impacting more than one player will be at the discretion of the Tournament Official to warrant a match restart. However, if a player’s monitor, keyboard or mouse disconnect or are faulty, the Event Official will attempt to reinstate game play for the player. If it is not possible to reinstate game play, that player is eliminated from that game.
Tournament Officials will not be able to troubleshoot player provided peripherals. If a player encounters a malfunction with their provided device Daybreak will make attempt to replace it with a sponsored mouse in a timely manner to keep the player in the match.
Restarting a match is a discretionary decision of the Tournament Official, based on his or her best judgment to conduct a fair event for all players. All players entering into the H1Z1 Invitational should know that the game is still in Early Access development, and there are bugs that may impact a player’s game experience. Bugs experienced by a single player may not warrant a match restart, and the match will instead continue. Players who experience a technical issue should raise their hand and call for a judge immediately.
Upon being eliminated from the match, players should exit the tournament area and remain in the “check-in” area outside the curtain partition. Players eliminated from a match are not allowed to interact with players still remaining in the match. Once the match has concluded and the tournament area is readied, players will be asked to quickly take their seats to prepare for the next match.
Upon conclusion of the tournament, any players expected to earn a prize are required to stay to fill out appropriate tax forms, participate in interviews, and to be available for pictures. Players who fail to stay for these activities will be ineligible for prizing.
Players are not allowed to install any programs on to the computers.
Players are not allowed to team with other players, or attempt to collude.
Players are not allowed to interact with any computers other than their own.
Players are not allowed to use exploits to gain advantage in the match.
Players must play the game in Full Screen mode, and use the peripherals provided or approved by Daybreak Games.
Voice chat will not be allowed in-game.
If a Tournament Official determines that a player is cheating, that player will be removed from the tournament and is ineligible for prizes.
Players may not receive outside assistance regarding the location of other players, other players’ health or equipment status, or any other information not otherwise known to the player by the information on their own screen. Players are therefore also not allowed to provide another player with outside assistance.
If the Tournament Official determines that a player has received outside assistance, or provides another player with outside assistance, any players in violation of this policy will be removed from the tournament and ineligible for prizing.
Players are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the End User License Agreement, Daybreak Terms of Service, H1Z1 2017 Invitational Tournament Policy, the TwitchCon Rules of Conduct and the Twitch Rules of Conduct at all times. At any time, if a player behaves in anyway unbecoming, the Tournament Official may ask the player to leave and that player would be ineligible for prizes.
Streaming during the competition will not be permitted. To ensure the integrity of the tournament, we will not be able to accommodate simultaneous streams from all computers, and to ensure a fair experience for all entrants, we will not allow a few select participants to stream to their own channels.
All players are responsible for the following:
Players may be asked to change their attire if something is determined to be inappropriate. If a player is unwilling to change his or her attire, the player will not be allowed to participate in the tournament.
The Tournament Official is there to enable an on-time and fair tournament. Players are expected to follow instructions by the Tournament Official at all times. Application of the Tournament Policy is at the judgment of the Tournament Official and must be observed by all players participating in the tournament. The Tournament Official will have final determination on cheating, unbecoming conduct, and tournament operations as they pertains to a player’s ability to participate in the tournament or to be eligible for prizes. Players are allowed to escalate tournament decisions to the Tournament Official, but his or her determination is final. Collusion of any kind with your competitors is considered cheating. If the Tournament Director determines that any competitor is colluding to manipulate the results or intentionally underperforming, the collaborating players may be immediately disqualified. This determination is to be made at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director. Anyone disqualified in this manner forfeits all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.

In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Tournament is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, computer, software, network error, technical problems or other causes beyond Sponsor’s control which affect the administration, security, or integrity of the Tournament, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, suspend or modify the Tournament or these Official Rules to address the impairment and then, if practicable, resume the Tournament in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules, or cancel or terminate the Tournament without awarding any prizes if Sponsor determines in good faith that the Tournament cannot be continued due to circumstances that are out of its control. Tournament participants must play the game to the best of their ability at all times. Cheating will not be tolerated. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the operation of the Tournament or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Tournament may violate applicable law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
By participating in the Tournament, Contestant waives any and all rights to bring any claim or action related to his/her participation in any form in the Tournament beyond one (1) year after the first occurrence of the kind of act, event, condition or omission upon which the claim or action is based. Entrant further agrees that to the extent any claims have not been waived by the entrant or participant, in any remaining cause of action, the Released Parties’ liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Tournament, and in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorney’s fees. Each entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Tournament or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. Any and all disputes arising out of or related in any way to the Tournament shall be governed by the laws and judicial decisions of the State of California (as permitted by Section 1646.5 of the California Civil Code or any similar successor provision), without giving effect to any choice of law rule that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the internal laws of the State of California to any such disputes.
