Event Information and Promotion
Pursuant to the terms of the Affidavit of Eligibility and Release which each contestant must sign, Daybreak shall have the right to publish event player information, such as player’s game stats, photographs, interviews or video footage of the event at any time for any reason.
3. Event Information
3.1. Check-in
To ensure a timely and professional event, all players (including alternates) must check-in at the event area at 9:00am PDT on September 26th, 2015. This allows all players time to verify they are there and ready to play, ensure that clothing is approved for stream, use the restroom, etc..
3.2. Pre-Match Procedures
At 10:00am PDT players are expected to begin Pre-Match procedures, which include signing a release, setting up mice and keyboards provided by Daybreak Games, signing in to the game client (if necessary, Event Officials on-site will clarify if personal accounts or set game accounts will be used), and any other set-up instructions per the Event Officials.
At 10:00am PDT, any player not checked-in and prepared to enter the event computer area will be replaced by an alternate of Daybreak Game’s choosing. This is a firm cut-off determined to ensure the event is ready for streaming at 10:30am PDT, that all players have had enough time to prepare his or her game stations (including alternates), and that any last minute technical issues are solved before stream time. To ensure a professional event for all players and all viewers, this deadline will not be waived for any players. Please be respectful to your fellow players and to your viewers and arrive on-time.
3.3. Event Area
The event area (the computer area inside the curtain partitions) is to remain free of trash, drinks and food at all times. If for any reason you need to leave the event area, please check-in with an Event Official first.
3.4. Technical Issues
Technical issues impacting more than one player will be at the discretion of the Event Official to warrant a match restart. However, if a player’s monitor, keyboard or mouse disconnect or are faulty, the Event Official will attempt to reinstate game play for the player. If it is not possible to reinstate game play, that player is eliminated from that game.
Restarting a match is a discretionary decision of the Event Official, based on his or her best judgment to conduct a fair event for all players. All players entering into the H1Z1 Invitational should know that the game is still in Early Access development, and there are bugs that may impact a player’s game experience. Bugs experienced by a single player may not warrant a match restart, and the match will instead continue.
3.5. End of Game One Procedures
Upon being eliminated from game one, players should exit the tournament area and remain in the “check-in” area outside the curtain partition. Players eliminated from game one are not allowed to interact with players still remaining in the game. Once game one has concluded and the tournament area is readied, players will be asked to quickly take their seats to prepare for game two.
3.6. End of Game Two Procedures
Any players expected to earn a prize from Game One or Game Two are required to stay to fill out appropriate tax form and to take pictures. Players who fail to stay for these activities will be ineligible for prizing.
4. Cheating
Players are not allowed to install any programs on to the event computers.
Players are not allowed to team with other players, or attempt to collude.
Players are not allowed to interact with any computers other than their own.
Players are not allowed to use exploits to gain advantage in the match.
Players must play the game in Full Screen mode, and use the peripherals provided by Daybreak Games.
Voice chat will not be allowed in-game.
If the Event Official determines that a player is cheating, that player will be removed from the event and is ineligible for prizes.
4.1. Outside Assistance
Players may not receive outside assistance regarding the location of other players, other players’ health or equipment, or any other information not otherwise known to the player by the information on their own screen. Players are therefore also not allowed to provide another player with outside assistance.
If the Event Official determines that a player has received outside assistance, or provides another player with outside assistance, that player will be removed from the event and ineligible for prizing.
4.2. Unbecoming Conduct
Players are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the End User License Agreement, Daybreak Terms of Service, H1Z1 Invitational Event Policy, the TwitchCon Rules of Conduct and the Twitch Rules of Conduct at all times. At any time, if a player behaves in anyway unbecoming, the Event Official may ask the player to leave and that player would be ineligible for prizes.
4.3. Streaming
Streaming during the competition will not be permitted. To ensure the integrity of the tournament, we will not be able to accommodate simultaneous streams from all computers, and to ensure a fair experience for all entrants, we will not allow a few select participants to stream to their own channels.
5. Responsibilities
5.1. All Players
All players are responsible for the following:
Players may be asked to change their attire if something is determined to be inappropriate. If a player is unwilling to change his or her attire, the player will not be allowed to participate in the event.
5.2. Event Official
The Event Official is there to ensure an on-time and fair event. Players are expected to follow instructions by the Event Official at all times. Application of the Event Policy is at the judgment of the Event Official and must be observed by all players participating in the event. The Event Official will have final determination on cheating, unbecoming conduct, and event operations as they pertains to a player’s ability to participate in the event or to be eligible for prizes. Players are allowed to escalate event decisions to the Event Official, but his or her determination is final.
